I got this one dude who seems to love nothing more than to try go step in and do my job....and poorly at that. I actually have no idea what his actual job is. His title is ambiguous, I can name no major accomplishments of his and no one that I've met has anything nice to say about him. I'm just hoping he gets fired soon.

I work with a guy from south America that thinks I want to steal his work from him. I got enough on my plate. Twice I offered a hand when he was overwhelmed. 2nd time he blew a gasket I told him he's being a fig and walked away. My boss asked last week if I would give him a hand as he was struggling. Told him no thabks. Not worth it

There’s one guy I work with, who won’t take help from nobody. He thinks he knows how to do everything, but really he sucks at his job.

I wouldn’t say this guys a work enemy, but he is incredibly needy. Twice a week he wants to go to lunch and knows that I don’t feel like going. I usually go with him just to keep balance in the office because we work with lots of women and I need him on my side. But we have nothing in common other than politics (thank god) and I hate spending the money to eat out. I’ve told him no before only to have him come back 10 minutes later and ask again. It’s exhausting

Usually the guys that are super guarded with their stuff are the ones that know it’s wrong or inefficient, but don’t want people to find out. Not sure if it’s a job security thing or just fear of having to change and learn something new.

Our VP of Engineering is like this and it’s really holding the company back. Not only that, but it’s a rotating door under him because nobody else ever gets empowered to do anything of significance since he hoards it all.

The know it all types are the worst. Used to work with a guy that was that way at everything. Could discuss anything even not work related, like something your cat or dog did, and this dude was suddenly an expert and knows everything about that breed.
Most of the crap that he said was completely wrong/bullshite. Dude said some cringe shite in front of customers/clients. How he ever got to be a boss of anything is amazing. He retired, fortunately for everyone.

My boss is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode when you least expect it. My boss' boss is the queen of creating busy work, useless changes, and spewing hot air.

There was a woman I used to work with years ago who was in her early 70s and was a paranoid sociopath. She and I hated each other. When I put in my 2 weeks notice I heard she was ecstatic. She’s no longer there either; about a year after I left she moved away to be closer to family. I still google her name occasionally hoping to see her obituary. She is the only person in the world that I can say I truly hate. Whenever she does die, she’s going to give Satan a run for his money.

Tell me about it.
I’m a safety inspector at a nuclear power plant. They hired this new guy, Frank Grimes, a few weeks ago. He seems to have it out for me. He’s educated, very organized and goes by the book, so my more casual approach to work seems to irritate him to no end. I tried to be friendly. I started jokingly calling him “Grimey” just as a playful nickname, but that didn’t go over well. He’s told me to my face that he doesn’t like me. I don’t know what to do. I was thinking about inviting him over to my house, spend some time with him outside a work setting so he can maybe see me as a person. Maybe a nice lobster dinner if I can get the kids to behave. Shouldn’t be too hard. My son recently bought a factory, so he’s busy with that. And my daughter is well-mannered and very smart, so she’ll be no trouble. Hopefully I can pull this off and win him over.

He’s probably just jealous that you got to tour with the Smashing Pumpkins.

Nado Jenkins83 is my work enemy. He eats chicken finger baskets in the bathroom while taking a shite. It's gross.

Who will start the "I am always trying to help a coworker because he does a shite job but he thinks I am just stepping in to do his job" thread?

Dunning Krueger effect- They are in every company. I have a friend that is this way. He thinks he is the best at his job. I suck and this guy is 100x worse than I am. It is comical listening to him talk about how great he is.

Your fault, actually. Don't waste your time on office relationships that aren't professional. Tell your supervisor this guy is out of bounds and move on.

His real name is Homer Simpson. Watch out for him, I hear he was fired from another plant.

If I was doing such a bad job, I would think my boss, or her boss (the CEO) would have mentioned it by now instead of continuing to give me new responsibility. This twerp isn't trying to be helpful out of the goodness of his heart or because he's some subject matter expert. It's because his job description is shaky at best and he has the likeability of sandpaper underwear. He's searching everywhere for something to make him more relevant.

I work with a couple that I don't like. We have 2 snitches, a suck arse, one that thinks he's smarter than everyone else. One that tells the boss he does everything and acts like he is the boss and he hasn't even been there 2 yrs. One that act like he works hard but will do less than anyone on the job.

It's like working with a bunch of teenage girls.
