I think the point is that we in the West (excluding some parts of Europe) have completely lost perspective of what entails an actual hardship, oppression, and suffering over the course of the last 75 years.
I absolutely agree, but people seem to have trouble remembering that when they yearn for the glory days.

It's really not. You can disagree with their perspective on what better is; that's normal and healthy. Impugning motives of millions of people (as if they are a hive mind)is something else entirely which seems to be what you're doing here.

Shouldn't have had a slapdick execution of Vietnam by the politicians if they wanted to keep people gung ho on the military.

The comments to this article go a long way to prove the author's point. Trump is Hitler, and his supporters are Nazis.
These people are obnoxious.

Our times, of course, are different. In our American times, those who experience the closest parallel to this are immigrants hiding from ICE. Show your kids some pictures from recent ICE raids, Marc. They'll get that the two things aren't the same, but that there are great similarities amidst the differences. This is obviously the most apt analogy of our time and place. Can't imagine why it wouldn't occur to you.
These people are obnoxious.

Is it really that much worse than Pizzagte, calling Obama a Kenyan Muslim Marxist, or the kinds of names that get thrown around to anyone the left of Rush Limbaugh by the sect of far right posters here? Are those people not also obnoxious?

Ok but last time I checked boomers didn’t fight the nazis, which is what I asked
True, but boomers participated greatly in military service, therefore exposing themselves in ways millenials never will. Kids today don't worry about ending up in a rice paddy if they fail out.

Yes, but they didn't have the platforms to spew their nonsense like those who spew the poppycock about Trump and his supporters, which is widely and truly believed by people on the Left to include most in the mainstream media. The Left in America are the true fascists today, not those on the Right.
This "division" that politicians and media types continuously blame on Trump was actually sown during Obama's terms, yet the Democrats and their allies are so in to projection, they push it off on Trump.

Sure they do. But even if you're right, why does that matter?

Yet you run to a typical Left-wing ploy by attacking the messenger, not refuting the statement.

So you can't actually respond with anything tangible, just feelings. Got it.

You see I think it started before that, for both the left with W and the right with Bill. The impeachment witch hunt was unlike anything we had seen in modern American politics, and the left talked about GWB in much the same language as we do today.
I don't think either side is to blame, and it's been amplified by social media (which makes it seem like the problem started with Obama).
I have no problem saying there are many on the left that are out of control with their rhetoric. I just don't understand why so many on the right can't admit it's just as bad with their side.

Who are the one's sending (or condoning) violent gangs to suppress dissenting voices? Who are the ones who actually want to control speech by deeming what is and what is not acceptable? Who are the ones who want to disarm the citizenry? Who are the ones removing monuments (not just Confederate monuments), renaming buildings, and rewriting history because it doesn't fit their sensibilities?

Its laughable that you clowns take up for those pieces of shite. They do more to divide our society by far than any other group.

I agree, and will also state that Jeb Bush or Mitt Romney would be getting similar treatment as Donald Trump had they won, but the difference between Trump and the other two is Trump fights back. With that being said, Trump is no Fascist or Nazi and neither are his supporters.

Because it's not. Not even on the same wavelength.

where is this actually happening? Don't link me gateway pundit please.

I assume you're talking about the fake controversy right wing media has created about tech companies allegedly targeting conservatives.
#1 That assumption isn't even true. Far left accounts are banned all the time as well:

#2 Even if your statement WAS true, the Supreme Court has widely recognized freedom of association as an essential part of the first amendment.
Why do you want to violate Twitter's first amendment rights by forcing them to associate with someone they don't want to associate with?? Don't you know that thanks to our conservative justices that corporations are people too???

Do you think that just because a statue goes up it has a divine right to stand forever? The one area I would agree though is (in the case of the NOLA monuments) it should have been put to a vote by the citizens of Orleans Parish and not been a blanket decision made by the city council.

this is where you're wrong. the right makes up child sex ring stories about politicians they don't like. That you just gloss over this is astounding.

Yes, but why single out millennials like his struggle was worse?
The safe space, words hurt generation is some late millennials and mostly gen z (mid 90s-00s) anyways.
Edit: and he specifically mentioned teenagers fighting 75 years ago. Teenagers today aren't millennials.
