Woman slices boyfriend's belly after he rejects sex

According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, police say that Yanilca Ortiz-Burgos attacked her boyfriend, Jose Vega-Hernandez, after he rejected her advances to have sex. She retaliated by slicing his belly in front of three children, police say.

Vega-Hernandez told the News-Journal that when Ortiz-Burgos entered the room, he was lying on the bed and told her he was too tired to do anything intimate. At that point, Vega-Hernandez said, she “forcibly jumped on him” and he pushed her off, which sent her into a rage. She then brought in a knife and sliced his belly, according to the arrest report.
According to police, Ortiz-Burgos was arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a person with a deadly weapon and child abuse. She was released and Vega-Hernandez told the News-Journal that “he is not pressing charges on Ortiz-Burgos and is more hopeful that she will get help.”
“One thing is certain,” Vega-Hernandez said, “This relationship is over.”
