Woman says she drank a soda bottle of bleach from Dominican Resort

“A New York woman claims a soda bottle filled with bleach left her ill and bleeding at the same troubled Dominican Republic resort where at least three U.S. tourists have died suddenly in their rooms.
The incident allegedly occurred at the Grand Bahia Principe resort in La Romana back in October 2018 and follows a series of allegations against the resort.
Awilda Montes, 43, told Fox News that after checking into a luxury room at the resort, she drank a bottle of soda from the minibar that “turned out to be bleach.”
“I was rushed to the medic and I was given an IV,” she continued. “Had chemical burns throughout my mouth.”“
How do you not realize this doesn’t taste like soda as soon as it hits or mouth? Or you know that it smells completely different. Holy frick people are dumb

She paid for that all-inclusive and by God she is going to eat and drink EVERYTHING, even it might be bleach.

Yeah, this sounds fishy.
I can smell bleach from a room away. It sounds like she intentionally drank it so she could be compensated.
This sounds like the "hot coffee" lawsuit against McD's like 10 years ago. Stupidity being rewarded.

The article I read about it.....she noticed it with the first sip and spit out most of it in the sink
She didn’t actually drink the entire bottle of soda.
There have been more stories of different tourists at a couple of DR resorts within the past year (saw Hard Rock mentioned in another article) all dying of mysterious deaths. Drinking from minibar seems to all be something they all have in common.
One guy at the hard rock resort drank scotch from minibar beginning of his stay and immediately got ill and later died.
She didn’t actually drink the entire bottle of soda.

You are the one sounding stupid because it’s well known that the “hot coffee” lawsuit was very much legit and not a frivolous suit. There have been many shows about the case.

Well, there’s 3 other deaths linked to DR under similar circumstances this year and 2 others last year that are now being reconsidered as linked. All deaths were after drinking from mini bar and happened very quickly.

Me and my wife were planning a vacation to a Dominican resort next summer. After all the stories I've seen of tourists dying in the Dominicans this year, not to mention David Ortiz getting shot, they are officially off of the list.
