OK there Julie. Is this user name left over from the last Nyx fiasco thread where you got caught stealing Krewe funds?
By the way, how is it possible to be the Captain of Nyx, run Pandora and have a full time job?

Thanks! There was and still is for some people but it makes me feel a bit better. I have also started a conversation about how we can support the relatives of the deceased lady. She made a deadly error in judgment but at the end of the day she is still a human who was out there enjoying Mardi Gras.

able to keep enough stuff
I was not able to get rid of everything despite my best effort and had to carry 3 large sacks of throws off. Some floats farther back than mine (34) didn’t even get started. Other folks abandoned their throws on the floats at the end of the night and can’t take advantage of the offer.

I think being CEO of those two and another nonprofit (a dance team) ARE her real jobs

Since I've been supportive of you, and it's clear you like me quite a bit, could you mail me some throws?
I'd appreciate it.

last Nyx fiasco
Wrong. The last Nyx fiasco was the cancelled summer parade not the embezzling.
Look, we all know the lady has a history. But she built a super krewe from the ground up and against the powers that be. She’s opened it up to everyone who want$ to ride and pay the dues to do it. We like it and the people like purses.
Nyx is a non-profit and I’m pretty sure it is her full time job. Not a bad gig, if you can get it. U jelly?

Sure. Just post your address. If you’re serious, though, I could probably send a purse from next year’s allotment.

supportive of you
The OT has been on the whole supportive. I’m kind of surprised. I haven’t been an active TD participant since college and I had to create a new username to join this thread. It’s been a safe space and quite cathartic. Thanks guys!

So this woman started a club. Convinced thousands of people to join and pay her dues. Then just takes a salary from y’all’s dues.
What a bunch of suckers. That is a great straight con.

Just like every other non-profit. There is a cost of doing business

You don’t know how charities work do you?

Yeah. I bet she has a salary of 35k. Doing the good work for a city of the impoverished.
I bet dollars to donuts her “salary” to manage this non profit is north of 90k.
Then she has two other similar cons running as well.
If she don’t make $200k a year from that, chalk me up to be real real surprised.

Sisterhood. Coven. Club. Whatever. She also founded Pandora, a women’s krewe that rolls in Metairie.

legit charities
We legit fundraised and donated an all-inclusive playground to the City of New Orleans this year and have more planned. More than I’ve heard from Endymion or Muses it anyone else doing for the city.

Here is what I gathered from this thread. I need to get a permit. I need to line up a company to make my floats and design them. There are only a handful of companies that do this. I can get a vendor to manage the beads.
I will even make this a cult phenomenon parade. How about Star Wars. Better yet. Krewe De Force. Tons of nerds would join.
All I need is a city permit. I have some connections at city hall. Let’s see if I can get this rolling.
My salary....300k.

Has this lady's name been released? Has a picture of her been posted?
Posted on 2/20/20 at 7:21 pm to DiamondDog
I’ve learned from this thread that you are a dumbass

Not going to review 6 pages of post, just state my take on this tragedy. Heard the news last night & felt for the family. This morning, when the details were released, sorry, I have no sympathy. Trying to cross the street “between” the parts of a tandem float may be the dumbest Mardi Gras move ever.
Thinking we are pretty damn lucky that this is only the second death in 40 years. Cannot tell you the number of times I have reached out to pull a kid back trying to reach under a float for a pair of beads. Parents no where in sight.
RIP

Why? Because it pretty much got broke down in a couple sentences? You act like this is genius level crap. It’s literally all connections and organization.
