I love the mid city portion of our route. The people and the atmosphere. We generate alot of economic revenue for that area. It's like a symbiotic relationship. It's also part of what makes Endymion unique.

The origins of Endymion are in Mid-City. The MAJORITY of original riders lived in that area. Many still ride or are involved. Some still live or have family/friends who live in the area. frick Cantrell and the City.

Wouldn’t you rather roll uptown?

Absolutely not at all. Mid-City for Endymion is better in every conceivable way. And Endymion Saturday is the best day of the year.

uptown? Less crime? Nicer areas

Are we taking about the same uptown?

Little historical trivia: does anyone know why Zulu wears black paint instead of masks?

Because soot was cheap back in the day...…...

The Uptown route would be the ultimate clusterfrick if Endymion moved there permanently

listen dude. I get why endmyion want Midcity but that parade is a nightmare for City safety.

shutting down the biggest Street in the city is problematic.

But I’m sure all the other know it alls around here will downvote me and tell me how wrong I am.

You are wrong. Soot was cheaper than purchasing masks, so the riders put ash, soot or whatever they had on their faces.

Every single NOLA parade shuts down Canal at some point. Take your hysterics and leave the thread.

If I recall, they were spoofing Rex and didn't want their bosses to recognize them (just a guess).

Shutting down canal street causes a Safety issue? How so? Endymion is paying for about 50 jp’s to patrol their route just to help the city out.

IIRC, barricades don’t start til the turn at Napoleon. That’s part of what made that stretch of Magazine the best place to watch IMO. Also more laid back atmosphere.

We usually set up somewhere between Henry’s and Valence. Skipped tonight...but I’ll bet barricades will be coming after what happened, not sure how soon. If people are dying without them, it’s probably the right call.
