Preliminary “final” 2017 dog attack data from the U.S. and Canada suggests some good news, in that “only” 989 dogs participated in killing or disfiguring humans, down from the 2016 record 1,075.
But the bad news is that those 989 dogs killed 57 people, 11 more than the previous record of 46 who were killed in 2015.
Pit bulls killed 39 people in 2017, 38 in the U.S. and one in Canada, a total of 11 more people than were killed by pit bulls in 2016 and five more than the previous record of 34 killed in 2015.

Why do y'all think all pits kill? Or even attack? Or even have a bad temperament?
Surely you can't all be that stupid, can you?
That's a rhetorical question, I know y'all can.

Cue the stat deniers because of a conspiracy that there's some bias to all the stats because of the hate for the breed.

What were pits bred to do?
Plus most of the mixes have such fricked up genetics who knows what is going on with them.

Where did I say all of them attack and kill? I didn't.
What I did say is that the breed is shitty. The breed has shite temperament. The breed is responsible for the most deaths and attacks of any breed despite being a super small minority.
They are trash animals and should be exterminated.

I don't think this. I've been around pitbulls that are "harmless" as you say. Very sweet dogs. On the other hand, it is no coincidence that nearly every news story about a dog attack involves a pitbull

All pits and their owners should be killed.

It's in their DNAt
quote:
Even the ASPCA acknowledges on its website that pit bulls are genetically different than other dogs. “Pit bulls have been bred to behave differently during a fight,” it says. “They may not give warning before becoming aggressive, and they're less likely to back down when clashing with an opponent.”

Not going to argue if your dogs are good dogs or bad dogs. If you say they're good dogs, I accept that. But as I've said in previous posts, the potential to do serious harm is undeniably greater with this breed of dog.
Lots of breeds are guilty of biting or attacking other animals and humans. But how many breeds will actually "kill" the victim of their attack. I don't think a non-pit, trained attack dog, would go as far as to kill their target, once the target is no longer resisting. Very doubtful that one that has not been trained to be aggressive would either. It seems a pit has a mind of it's own when their trigger gets tripped. They don't need a command from a handler to set things in motion.
You may be a responsible pit owner, but way too many owners are not. Way too many own this breed for the wrong reasons and raise them wrong as a result.
I don't know man. I hate to overreact to these situations, because I know pit owners love their dogs. But I also can't blame parents, who love their children, for wishing this breed was outlawed.

He won't answer any legit questions and just spout off the same talking points that he and his fellow pit lovers trained each other to respond with. I'll get them out the way for him.
"It's the owner, not the dog"
"Yall are crazy to think all pits are going to kill someone" (Nobody thinks that)
"My dogs might just lick you to death" (by "lick" he means shred your face off with their teeth)
I'll post some more stats, from a peer reviewed study. Thank pit lover TJGator1215 for providing the website. This study took place between '79 and '98, a time before pits were not even close to as big of a part of the dog population as they are today.
Peer Reviewed Study
quote:
Objective—To summarize breeds of dogs involved in fatal human attacks during a 20-year period and to assess policy implications.
Results—During 1997 and 1998, at least 27 people died of dog bite attacks (18 in 1997 and 9 in 1998). At least 25 breeds of dogs have been involved in 238 human DBRF during the past 20 years. Pit bull-type dogs and Rottweilers were involved in more than half of these deaths.
I haven't found any peer reviewed studies since, but it only makes sense that the pit numbers grew much worse because they've taken up a bigger part of the population since 1998.

Tail docked,
Docking a tail can prevent injuries during chases or herding. It also can help keep energetic breeds from hurting themselves by "thumping" it against walls or dog crates.
quote:
ears manipulated
Dobie's can be prone to ear infections. By cropping them, this becomes less likely and their ears generally stay cleaner. A dog with ear infections or allergies will constantly shake their head and can cause the tips of the ears to split and bleed.

Almost all dogs will get in a foul mood and act aggressively at some point in their life.
The difference, some dogs may just bark, some may even nip. A Pitt will faaaar more prone to maim or kill
