I was only four years old, so I don't know if I "experienced" it, but there was a day in January 1994 that the windchill was -45 in Minneapolis. Coincidentally, it was brought-up over Thanksgiving last month.

Outside of that, Chicago had a couple -40 windchill days in January 2014. That was insane. I put on all my layers to walk one block to the grocery store and could feel my body numbing.

Went to Sioux Falls, SD back years ago. After plane landed they came on the intercom and said it was -8 but -39 with wind chill.

I told my boss at the time I would quit before ever going back there.

Yea, I was referring to Worcester in my OP. This is the coldest it’s ever been when I’ve been up here.

If it warms up, we may try to go to a restaurant out that way. She’s got some friends in the Natick area too so maybe so.

8 degrees with a -12 WC. We were skiing at Copper Mountain, CO and the temps were in the mid to upper 20’s all week with light snow every day and I was shedding my shell at times. I thought to myself - how different will 8 degrees feel with that wind chill and the answer was a lot different.

I’ve heard this before. I’ve never experienced 0 degrees before but some inlaws live in the north where they get to -25 every year and they say a humid 20 with any amount of wind here in BR is just as cold.

Definitely true. I’ve walked around for an hour in 0 in CO with a T-shirt on (not by choice) and been fine. Humidity is a killer for hot and cold.
