I'd be shocked if she wasn't adopted this time next month.
Hopefully, but it's not really that simple. First they have to find her parents. Then they have to make sure that they parents are unable/unwilling to care for the kid. Then the parents have to sign over their legal rights (if they are mentally able to). Then grandparents/aunts/uncles are looked into to see if one of them can take her. And then if all of that clears she'll be placed for adoption and even then, they aren't just going to give her to the first person off the street who wants her. It's not an overnight process. Trust me. I am familiar with how all of this works due to family members who are shitty parents (unfortunately).

I saw that shite in Macon, GA 3 years ago. It instead was in my hotel lobby where I was staying. This however was a little boy maybe 6 or 7.. talk about crying his eyes out. I TOTALLY understand your feeling physically sick. I had dreams about that night for months afterwards. Made me lose a ton of faith in humanity.

Was this in Late? Do they have safe, no questions drop points at hospitals & fire departments there?

Well then, correction, as soon as these technicalities are worked out, I'd be shocked if she weren't adopted within the month. Isn't there a waiting list for girls like her, and wouldn't she go straight to the front of the line once the relative issue is worked out?

The best part of my day everyday is when I walk in the door and my 1 year old runs to me. I couldn't imagine a day without that. I couldn't begin to fathom deserting her anywhere not for even a minute. I couldn't put her through that.
The confusion, waiting and hoping for someone you know to show up........

True..but I think it is the undebatable #1 fear of everyone on this earth.. being totally abandoned or alone with truly no family or anyone. I know when I was growing up a kid 2 streets over who we never much hung out with had his Mom, Dad, and older brother killed in house fire. He went into foster care and a few months later (he was 12 or 13) he showed up back at school.. was NOTHING about him the same. He became very quiet and hard nosed. To me, it seemed like his very soul died that day he lost his family. I cant even fathom what its like to experience something that traumatic.

I won't be sleeping tonight thinking about that poor little girl.

Well, a 10 year old can fathom what happened. I don't think a 5 year old can, which may save this girl.

frick that count who dropped her kid off at mcdonalds.
if you didn't want the kid, you should have pulled out or put her up for adoption at birth.

Sadly AZ CPS is a joke as well. Hopefully this poor child can find some stability and a loving home to go to.
Not shocked it happened in Mesa tbh. Lots of meth heads there.

I think the Safe Haven law only applies to newborns in most states. Louisiana parents have 60 days, but a lot of states are much less.

if it was a meth head, it's better she's out of it now, but still sucks for her.

We have drop off places all over AZ. Hell you can drop your baby off at QuickTrip(it's a safe haven drop point). QT is a gas station chain.
Our hospital has one outside the ER. Basically a giant drawer built into the wall. Pull drawer out, place baby in.

I see crap like this at work and it always breaks my heart. Those poor kids.
And usually they are the sweetest, most well behaved children. They are usually quiet and used to keeping themselves entertained on their own. Usually they are basically scared into being good because they don't want to be beaten or they think if they are good their POS parents will love them more.

It's one of the "safe haven" things...and they have it that way to ensure the mother remains anonymous.
It isn't like a fedex drop box...
