Possible head zings. May be more moody than usual.

The only side effect I really noticed coming off of lexapro years ago was that brain zap feeling. Like a weird fast buzzing in my head. It was occasional & not a huge deal. I weaned slowly, so no severe withdrawal.

Also, having real emotions again. Lexapro made me feel happy no matter what was going on. It was awesome, but not good. Sometimes we need to have real reactions to shite.

About ten years ago, I Das on anxiety medicine. It's supposed to cause withdrawals when you stop taking it, too. One day I realized I couldn't remember the last time I had taken it. I guess i subconsciously weaned myself off. I didn't notice any changes in myself. Everyone reacts to meds differently.

Damn, life must be shitty when you have to take medicine to make you happy.

I think I may need some of that stuff.

If you can taper your dosages off gradually, or at least wean yourself off by taking your med first 6 days a week, then 5 days a week, then 4 days a week, and so on...
That would be most ideal.

Definitely avoid quitting cold turkey (i.e., stopping all at once) if you can help it. I stopped taking Welbutrin cold turkey and I felt like absolute shite physically and mentally for 2-3 weeks.

Best of luck! Getting off anti-depressants is certainly tricky, but it's worth it to get off of them if they've not improved (or even worse, negatively impacted) your quality of life.

So it just makes you happy? Doesn't impact your work performance or anything? You'll still be able to think clearly?

What about "performance" in other areas?

Varies. Some people it causes some impotence, some it's harder to finish, for some strange people like me in more ready to go than normal

Edit: but it's a very safe and effective drug so just speak to your doctor is you're having a hard time

You'll be happy, but unable to orgasm. Not sure that's a win.

Notify who ever put you on it and ask. They'll tell you to taper off, but I've just stopped taking before and I had no problems.

Biggest advice: if you start to have issues go straight to the ER

Anti depressants killed my sex drive so at 26, I was prescribed Viagra stopped my pills, smoke weed now, and have no sexual issues. I still do have a good number of blue pills lol

I dated a girl that thought she was smarter than the doctors and pulled herself off of them

We were done shortly thereafter

Such a blessing

I have learned that I am not built to handle when they need to prescription medicate for the stuff going on in their head

8 down votes for being self-aware? What am I missing
