I can't believe what I'm seeing in times Square videos.
I just know that one street full of diamonds seems like a hot looting target. Then it's close to Trump Tower.

You have to cross the sidewalk as they have barriers around the sidewalk on that side.

Normally they take in their diamonds/jewelry every night and lock them up

Watches of Switzerland removed all of their inventory before the raging hordes showed up. I'd guess the diamonds will be very secure elsewhere as well.
