reading comprehension not your strong suit, thats ok

the fees are applied to everyone, and are not based upon your usage (that means how much power I consume)

do you actually get an electric bill? Read it.
Do you understand YOU PAY to maintain the grid?
Adding EV charging to every other home would require huge localized grid upgrades.
So EV buyers (potentially) increase the need for more power, which means more transformers (those big round cans on the poles)
ALL USERS of electricity pay those fees.
Your EV costs ME $$$$$

Same with gas

Of course

Your vacation costs me $$$$

The argument that someone elses EV impacts you financially whether or not you decide to own an EV being any different than the use of fuel and oil is ridiculous.

That’s what politicians do. It doesn’t mean it is possible with the current infrastructure and tech. Also doesn’t mean it isn’t coming eventually and people who refuse to learn the tech or make an attempt to adapt will be behind the learning curve at some point.

About four or five months ago, Hertz in LA gave me a free upgrade to a Model 3. My first time driving a Tesla.

I had to bring it back with a 70 % charge.

I hit a supercharger about 5 am, cost me less than five bucks. I sure would have spent a whole lot more on gas after driving around LA all day.

Honestly wouldn’t be a bad thing. The grid infrastructure in the US is crumbling as is. Cc: Texas during the freeze…and they pay for/maintain their own grid.

Well, you also paid to bailout Ford, GM, and Chrysler so…

Was in CA a couple of months ago and I saw people, including families with children, sitting in the cars waiting while they were charging. I can’t imagine thinking anything is worth that.

Because smart people don’t do this. I never charge my Tesla at a charge station.

You shouldn't have to if you use it for a commuter vehicle and aren't taking it on the highways.

Not even trying to be ugly here but this is the frustrating part of these threads that are frustrating. A simple ev charging map search would have prevented this post.

Texas during the freeze…and they pay for/maintain their own grid.

After the big power outage they put in a new law that said the power companies have to do all of these different htings to ensure grid continuity, and then right before it passed Abbott put in an exemption of those rules for existing power companies meaning only new companies actually have to beef up their infrastructure which makes it more expensive to invest. Less than a month later the Texas power companies donated a million dollars to his campaign. All this did was reinforce monopolies, but yes, EV owners are the problem

That line looks like a great way to miss your flight

I have been renting from Hertz in Orange County for a couple of years and the requirement for Tesla rentals was to return above 15%. Is that not the case anymore? I haven't rented since May.
