Will EV's become part of the market? Of course, but they are still not applicable in some markets. The manufacturers also have no control over the aging grid infrastructure which would have to be dramatically improved to support EV's as a significant percentage of the cars on the road.

True. John Q Public has no idea as to the amount of electric infrastructure improvement needed to go green. And the energy generation can't be all windmills and solar panels. Gonna have to throw in some nuclear reactors and still burn some natural gas.

diesel equipment that mines the lithium

This is likely to be really ugly if one were to snaps some pictures of the mines and the flooded mine tailings. It's a good thing we will foist this upon the countries that have lithium reserves. And when will we see the lithium equivalent of OPEC?

Your great gran pappy said the same thing about switching from a horse to a car

Highly doubt it. The car was a step up from the horse. Electric isn’t really a step up from ICE.

Nah, but ford stock is going to fricking peak soon.

I bought a decent amount of shares and it's going to be fun seeing tesla get rocked by the best domestic car maker in the country.

We Bet F-150 Lightning's Range Is under 100 Miles when Towing at the Max

quote:

In a recent towing test with another EV, lugging a 3859-pound boat at 70 mph chopped its range in half compared to a run at the same speed sans trailer. Applying these results to the F-150 means that towing a modest trailer would put the highway range at roughly 100 to 125 miles, depending on the pack.

How long does it take to charge?

8 hours to fully charge at home with a Ford provided charger.

Should note that charging electric vehicles isn't linear though. So it doesn't take 4 hours to get 50%.
