In this area, it’s predominantly black folks middle-aged and up.
But it’s also random. I see country white guys doing it, too.

I don't really think wearing masks will become widespread in U.S. after this current event is over, but I think there will be certain areas where it is common - like New York City.

The posters saying it will end when the heat hits are correct. Myself and co-workers refuse to wear them working outside in the summer. We would rather breathe silica dust than wear them. We keep them with us so we can slip them on if a government inspection agency shows up.
We had several hundred N-95 masks we gave to the local pharmacy so they don't have to wear the ineffective homemade crud. The pharmacy got a donation of hand sanitizer from a local cHemical supply company so they gave us some bottles. Weird getting hand sanitizer in what is obviously a labs chemical bottle. Small town America at work

If you ever wore a mask for 8 hours in 110 degree heat index you'd take your chances with the dust too. Takes about 10 minutes before its soaked with sweat and choking you
