so he gets life in prison for rape (which he should), but a teacher has sex with a 16 year old 36 times in a month and she gets off for free, even when she admitted to it.

How are the two situations in any way, shape, or form similar?

they are and they aren't. I just find it insane that she got off for something a male teacher would get years in prison.

I understand your sentiment. Therefore, I would argue that forceable rape is something that has lifelong psychological consequences for the victim. Furthermore, people who commit predatory acts need more than punishment. They need to be kept off the streets.

Im sure Im going to get downvoted into oblivion for this but try to be objective here...

Shouldnt prison sentences match the crime? Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth? Shouldnt life sentences be reserved for people who take a life? Shouldnt this guy be sentenced to enough arse rapings to damage his mental psyche and anus for the remainder of his life like he gave to his victims? That would be a more equitable punishment but I guess that would fall under "cruel and unusual".

Doesn't really matter in this case. 40 years, which he definitely deserves, is effectively a life sentence. If he wanted to walk the streets again one day, he should have got caught when he was younger.

You got a good idea for torture. Rapist are to get put on a Sybian machine with the choice of dildo to be varied on the crime ranging from 12" mandingo on the low end to pineapple on the high end of severity.

Not getting into the much lower burden of proof in some of these cases....but he was charged with raping a 12 year old.

If he actually did that, going to prison the rest of his life isn't unreasonable.

Yes he seems like a slime ball who could commit what he was convicted of, that said, the percentage of these cases that are overturned because the victim later recants their story as a adult is staggering.

Most high school boys would tell you that Destrehan kid is the luckiest person they know. The boy was definitely a willing participant, which is why the teachers got off leniently.

Thats why I argued that he should receive a lifechanging arse rape or enough of them to shake his world for the rest of his life. That doesnt require a life in prison or solitude. Only requires some grade A arse raping. Thats what he dished so thats what he should receive.

They need to be kept off the streets.

This is a valid and logical argument to make.

This I imagine is acceptable but I would still like to see eye for an eye rather than just locking people up. Some people can be very comfortable and content in prison.
