No.
People still need to get groceries. They didn’t even go that far in places like Italy

Or make Home Depot and Lowes open to professionals only- who can provide proof of said profession. Not for Suzy who needs some flowers.
Naw, frick all that. There are stores for all those professionals that aren’t big box

What about the rest of us that need things like light bulbs, weed eater string, air filters, door knobs, paint, etc?
Outside of maybe the air filters, you really wouldn’t NEED any of those things
ETA: you can get all of those things from those respective stores websites or delivery services within two days. You doing things around the house isn’t “essential”

you want me to stay home for a month, I'm going to NEED a few things so I can keep myself busy for that month
I've been avoiding Lowe's because I'm trying to be a good citizen and all, but I'm going to have to make a run one of these mornings for a few things
amazing what projects you can think up when you are at home for a few weeks

You can order it online and have it delivered though, outside of flowers and shite, there shouldn’t be much you can’t pick out online

As long as people keep gathering for crawfish boils & private parties, & other large gatherings this shite is going to linger & linger. Let me be clear, I’m a MAGA supporting republican that loves my guns, freedom, & beautiful arse & titties. But, some of you baws that are supposedly “ready for war” & “can’t make me stay home baws” are really showing how easily you can be picked off by an unknown enemy bc you & soccer mom Suzy gotta take the Range Rover around town bc ya bored or bc John Bel ain’t gonna make you stay home. Get pissy over my comment all you want, hell pick a Sonic, most likely Rona will beat me to ya.

Police would stop giving a shite after a while. This is a rough estimate, as I have no real connection to law enforcement. But in any given town or district, there may be 1 cop for every 100 citizens.
It will get extremely old for cops spending their entirw shifts doing nothing but giving everyone tickets simply because they are not outside.

“Online” is going to pick out my lumbar for me for my projects? It’s perfectly easy to go into Lowe’s and not come within 10 feet of someone else, especially if you go early or late.

The lumber sucks at Lowe’s, just go to the lumber yard, where there aren’t 500 other people

If Lowe’s and Home Depot were to close and people were forced to go to stores that specialize in things, they would be amazed to find employees who are knowledgeable and helpful, greater product selection with superior products, and that they would spend less on a varied Bill of materials. Only way you actually save money at Lowe’s/HD is if you are aware of what their loss leaders are and buy nothing but that

I've actually been looking at quite a few articles about it lately. I think this one would have dwarfed it if our medical knowledge/medicine was still stuck in the early 20th century.
A full quarantine might fly for a weekend but there's not enough cops or willing military to enforce it. That said, I can see them quarantining counties/areas. I can't get out of my head that picture in the Honkus thread of the CCP dumping mounds of soil to block Wuhan access. The panic that would cause here would be far worse than not doing anything at all.
