Why trump identified easter as a economic restart date

project managers understand that the many different groups working on a large project need a target date for the completion. the groups must interact at the proper time to build the physical and work process that fit together. ie turn the power on, hire people, train, buy raw material, get permits, construction, etc.
the target date gives each group guidance on when to plan their sequence of events.
restarting the 330 million people economy requires similar coordination for each segment. luckily we are not a central planning type of governance. by allowing the segment owners to plan there own start-up gas stations can start planning at the same time airlines start reworking their schedules. by communicating easter the general population knows it is not July, probably not June, and maybe may 15. trump throwing out a date is communicating to one and all they need to get their issues worked on now either it be safe virus work practices , coverage of fire stations , toll roads, power generators , raw material inventories, or child care.
he will be criticized for pushing to hard, when it is the segments that want to be ready
he will be criticized for not making the easter date, because the boutique's in Manhattan are still closed.
but all the criticizing will support trump's communication throughout the nation and build on the success of the national restart

Restarting the economy will be just like the shutdown but in reverse. It will be gradual over many weeks for most and months for some areas.

That would be cool if if happened,Trev, but trump doesn't know what's going to happen anymore than the rest of us.
Cool take though, but trump isn't God.

Resurrection of Christ, resurrection of the economy. Simple.

probably not, the virus slid in without much announcement, understanding of the impact, or the defense . there is still much not known contributing to the the uncertainty.
restart will be propelled by the common business need, big and small, to get back to an operating income to avoid bankruptcy

Because he feels the election is slip sliding away.

Not really. Trumps wins in another landslide

Let him rush this virus recovery and see where that gets him. There is no way he wins in a landslide. Too many states are guaranteed blue for that to happen.

Until this happened I was pretty certain that Trump would win fairly easily. Sadly something like this is exactly what can derail a re-election campaign. Nothing about this has helped him and I'm hoping the Democrats don't get rewarded for crashing the economy.

Aren't those states already blue? Frick them.

Yes, they are blue already. And that is exactly what will prevent trump from winning in a landslide.

Yes, because Biden is such a strong candidate
