I'm all for legalizing weed everywhere.

The history as to why it is illegal is beyond hilarious.

Hint: Thanks Progressives! Just like 90% of the issues in this country, your racist ilk created another problem and now you all have the "solution".

It's actually not. Your body never becomes dependent. If you quit, you'll miss it, but you don't need it.

You sort of answered your own question. Money!!!!!!! Drug testing is big business. Keeping it defacto illegal works for everyone.

More like Uniparty.

Democrats made it illegal. Republican administrations worked with Dems to create the "War on Drugs" and introduce a harmless drug as a "gateway drug". lololol

Well then surely you believe that alcohol, nicotine, and tobacco should be illegal as well?

Republicans must be in control of your state legislature.

They are, but the Democrats in our states legislature are no different than them. They don’t want that shite legalized either. We even have a Democrat Governor, who does not support recreational use. We have the strangest Democratic politicians in the entire country.

shite, half the Republicans in the LA legislature are really Democrats. They only changed their party affiliation so they could put that "R" next to their names to get elected. Wouldn't have been elected, otherwise. Never seen a bigger group of proud, blatant RINOs than those in the LA legislature.

Seriously, can anyone give me a real answer, as to why weed is still illegal in this country?

Because we're like the outlaw stridin' while suckers are hidin'. Jump behind the bush when they see me driving by, hangin' out the window with my Magnum, takin' out some puto's. Actin' kinda loco, I'm just another local kid from the street gettin' paid for my vocals.

Any effort to do so on a federal level has typically passed the House and died in the Senate.

I don't think it would take an act of Congress to reschedule cannabis. It's something the DEA, in the Executive branch, could do at the president's request.

I'm pretty sure each of the 3 branches of government has an avenue to decriminalize it.

There is psychological addiction though. I know plenty of people that smoke A LOT and feel like they have to. If they don't, they get irritable, anxiety etc. I think it should be legal, definitely as long as alcohol is legal, but the people who act as if weed is completely harmless are kind of ridiculous too.

I'm proud to say I was part of the vote to legalize it in CO. Didn't change the fact my employer would fire me for a positive test. They sent out a memo when it passed to make sure we were aware of the policy.

Weed is more psychoactive than alcohol. I get that most people here haven’t had problems with it but letting everyone with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar have access to a psychoactive drug may not be the best thing in the long run.

It’s easier to buy weed under the age of 21 even when it was illegal everywhere but Cali.

I’ll say this again, the bills pushed through in LA were from a republican and an independent. Not democrats.
