Should be open and staffed during the day IMO. People in town I'm sure would like to go in and see the stadium. Can't get on the field, obviously, bit can go in and see it.

it used to be, there was an opening on the nez side across from Mike(R.I.P. ,) that was always open, that's how a lot of these banging on the 50 stories happened, I did it a few times, probably too much liability these days

I see that a man was arrested for bringing a hooker into Tiger Stadium last night and that got me thinking - why is the Stadium never really open to the public? I know you can take tours and such, but why can't you just stroll into the stadium and exercise? If there's no game/event, then what's the harm?

Needs less conspicuous security measures.

$1.00 per person at the gate. After the 3rd quarter is deposited down the slot everyone turns and walks away anyway, so...

UF keeps their stadium open to the public. Students can go and study/read in the stadium.

At least they did recently. Not sure if that's still the case.

If you contact LSU they do arrange group tours, not sure about individual tours.

It is more about liability, as earlier posted mentioned. If LSU doesn't prevent access, they would be sued.

You would have to hire a bunch of people to chaperone the people hanging out in the stadium all day.

I meant you could have tours at designated times and have the stadium closed when there aren't tours. It wouldn't be some big redneck free for all with PFG shirts and michelob ultras on the 50 yd line

Vandalism and theft, potential for someone to smuggle in bomb/weapons, liability/insurance risk, and bunch of students sneaking in to be able to say they got laid in Death Valley.

Stadium was always open at Troy. When I was in school there it was before the renovation/expansion, and the track was still in there as well. Tons of students would go run there and run the steps.

All those stadiums used to be unlocked back in the early 90s. We would go out drinking and sneak into Tiger Stadium, Alex Box, Bernie Moore, the Huey P. Long pool. Our thinking was we would case these joints out, then bring girls back to them later on. Like it wasn't tough enough for us to get laid back then...

A buddy stole third base from Alex Box. I stole a framed picture of Shaq from the club levels in Tiger Stadium. While I was doing that, a friend beat off on the 50 yard line and fantasized there were 90,000 women in the stands cheering him on.

All that shite went away after 9/11. You gotta worry about more than petty theft and drunk kids trying to screw in the end zone.

Sounds like something an OT poster would do

Several years ago, some friends and I drove around the FSU football stadium. We were not sure if it was okay to go in despite the gate was open. A security guard saw us and said it was open to the public as long as you stay off the field.

Do you read the news? This is Baton Rouge and the really shitty parts aren't far way from TS. There would be a dead body per week minimum found there if it was open to the public without 24 hour police presence.

Ben Hill Griffin is open unless there is lightning in the area or an LSU game scheduled.

Or when there is a game scheduled but too many Florida players are hurt.
