Why is the lion known as the king of the jungle

When it is actually the tiger. Lions live on the plains of Africa and tigers live in the jungles of southeastern asia. Never made sense to me

Well in reality, the elephant or rhinoceros is king of the jungle. Nothing really fricks with them.

Africa does have a rather large jungle.
That aside, have you seen how a male lion runs his pride? He lays in the shade all day, sends his multiple bitches out to kill for food, when they kill something he gets to eat first, and he fricks his bitches whenever the mood suits him. Sounds pretty kingly to me.
