Why is drinking before noon frowned upon?

Especially when you work overnight and just get off work and will be going to sleep in a little bit. Some people make this out to be its some sort of a huge problem.

I worked nights a lot my last few years in college on turnarounds and didn't have classes until noon. I remember the looks in line that I got with a case of Natty at 6:30 am. frick the haters.

We have a hard and fast rule that no drinking can happen until there’s a fish in the boat. And bait doesn’t count.
But no one judges if you crack one open on the dock before departing.
And vacation beers don’t count either. If you’re by the pool at 9 AM then by all means open one up.
