Albertsons on Perkins and Essen is ridiculous.

they are getting rid of the liquor department

actually i should say, they are swapping with the pharmacy which blows because you will have to use the regular lanes to check out

Albertsons does fricking suck. For the love of God, if at all possible, shop somewhere else, literally almost anything else.

What do you see as their problems? Aside from higher prices, their stores are clean, in stock, have enough cashiers to get you out quickly, & employees are helpful. What else do they need to fix aside from prices?

I have my issues with the lines at times, but I like Albertsons (Essen/Perkins) Their product selection is more vast than anywhere else within a reasonable distance.

Moving next week, and I have no idea where to go for my big weekly trip. Neighborhood WalMart and Winn Dixie (Burbank) are both a joke as far as selection goes, and they get too crowded. Nearly impossible to get out of either one going towards my direction too.

Robert's is the closest store and I like it for certain things, but you can't really do "big" shopping there if you're someone who plans all your meals in advance because they don't have 60% of what I go in looking for.

I used to shop Albertsons in the 80's and early 90's. The last time that I was in an Albertsons was in 2007. I find that I am attracted to local stores like Rouses and Alexander's.

Winn Dixie is expensive by far. How they have stayed open is a mystery to me ?

That's the new HEB. It's nice and will probably me my go to from now on, I just don't like how they don't have the prepared food options like some of the other ones.
The new Kroger on the beltway and w. Lake Houston has a food court with a subway type sandwich setup, bbq, Chinese, and a bar where you can have beer and wine.

Albertsons relies heavily on the hood market. They take in more food stamps than any other grocery store in Louisiana.

Places like Winn Dixie (just not burbank) and Albertsons sell a larger variety of aisle items. I love local stores, but they tend to have less of what I write on my list. I'm crazy pants with my meal planning, and during the week, a lot of it relies on specific products from specific brands that local stores don't carry much of.

I've had to accept that I can rarely do a one stop kind of deal.

will beat just about all of them for all of your shopping unless you are exclusively buying sale items.

Whole Foods...

I went today and a Whole Foods frozen pizza, quart of soup, 12 pack of La Croix and 2 bottles of wine ran me around $50. It would be cheaper to goto Slice or Theo's. Whole Foods prices are absurd but I see it as paying for convience.

It was actually closer to $60. That's steep for a pizza night. The wine was Whole Foods cheap. $13-14 a bottle.
