Data that communicates what?

Information about consumer purchase habits and American vehicle culture.
If you’re offended by this it might be worthwhile to interrogate why. It’s just information.

Wrong, it’s data that you are using to be critical of others choices.

The only thing that’s offensive is someone else offering criticism of others choices as if those choices affect them in any conceivable way.

FedGov has killed affordable diesel engines. I’ve gotten rid of DEF by switching to a gas powered 5th gen Toyota 4Runner.
And my next vehicle will be a used Ford Ranger or Chevy Colorado….preferably the model with the black plastic grill and bumper.
Imagine how liberating it would be if I don’t care about mud, rock chips, or some jerk backing into it and scratching the bumper? That’s how cheap I’m gonna go. That’s what a truck should be.

If that’s how you take it that’s your problem. It’s just presented as data to substantiate that one poster while wrong was directionally correct.

I don’t give a shite what you drive or why. I have enough useless cars and trucks to keep me busy.

You’re getting emotional now. I’m going to leave this conversation now before this devolves any further. Hope your day gets better.

90% of people driving vehicles that require DEF do not have a need for that vehicle. I don’t feel sorry for them.
What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

This is an idiotic statement considering that commercially owned 18 Wheeler, box trucks and step vans with diesel engines have DEF systems and the total number of these types of vehicles way outnumber the amount of privately owned diesel pick ups.
There was a time I was the fleet manager for the company I work for. My location had 2 tractors, 3 box trucks, and 18 step vans. I got so sick of sending trucks to the shop for DEF system issues. Driver got sick of being stranded on road trying to regen the system so truck would run again. Completely worthless. Drives up the cost of vehicles, increases maintenance cost.

You're not wrong but if you aren't deleted, you're missing out.
If I owned the equipment, I would delete that shite quickly.
But I work for a pump rental company and deleting the DEF and EGR bullshite off of the equipment is a no no.

This is something I fought for a decade of hands all demanding 4x4 diesel 3/4 trucks to haul around a coupe other hands and some luggage.
I thought you were a petroleum engineer, not a fleet accountant.

Mechanical. I have some experience doing some down hole work from my time working for service companies but I’m mostly an asset manager. And I got out of all of that after business school.
