While your response is appreciated, it doesn't answer the question.
That's because most peoples simple answer will cause you to say "but why does it make things fun, are you not happy in life?" and some bullshite like that, which seems to be you're personal opinion. So for you there's no right answer unless someone says they aren't happy in life
I remember this exact thread you started a while back and remember how you kept saying the same shite over and over

because for some people reality sucks arse. is it that hard to understand?
No, it's not hard to understand. I've lived it.

I only drink socially. It makes my social interactions easier and more enjoyable. But other than that I love being in my own head. I think and daydream constantly pretty much the rest of the time and drinking gets in the way of that. But I don't judge those that like to drink more often. They're not me. And I don't believe people that drink more are necessarily "suffering" in some way. Some are and some aren't.

And a very sensitive question
it's not a sensitive question, you wish it was as this entire "question" is nothing more than yet another attempt by you to feel better about yourself as you think you are superior to other people. You're not interested in drinking, you're just so damn proud of yourself that you dont, and under the guise of "I just want to know more" you're really just waiting to pounce on somebody who walks into your ridiculous premise.

There isn't a premise? It's a question
Every question has a premise. It is ignorant to suggest otherwise.
Your premise is that everyone who drinks/gets high does it to temper the pain/suffering in their lives.
That is a flawed premise, as I have already laid out for you.
But you choose not to read or heed such input because it kills your troll

Luckily for you, I'm bored and have nothing better to do tonight than to snipe your bullshite

Did you criticize the question in that thread too?

Yes, it's both a sensitive, and simple, question. As you can see by the various responses to the question, such as you've posted.

People get drunk and high for many, many reasons and there is no simple answer as you are looking for.

It's not an inherently sensitive question.

So, it alters your suffering into something more tolerable?
Why do you assume it always has to deal with someone suffering or not coping with reality? Do you realize all people are different?
I don't understand why some people like staring at pictures of art for hours, but that's what they like and I'll never know why

No, the responses in this thread reflect your inability/unwillingness to stop being difficult.
But you know this, of course.

Does everyone who drinks do that because they're trying to alter painful reality? Not according to the few answers among the many non-answers in the thread.
In every case though, the few answers indicate a dissatisfaction with one's life, one's reality, one's personality, one's person.

It's not trolling, it's a simple question.
It was a disingenuous question to begin with- laced with judgement. You sound like a person who thinks they have everyone figured out while sitting in the front pew of a pentecostal church in bum frick nowhere. Not everyone's knowledge and understanding of the world is as simple as your existence.
