Servers at Herbsaint make really good money. I have a friend who teaches at Sacred Heart and works at Herbsaint a few nights a week and full time during summer months - she'll clear 6 figures between both jobs and most likely more at Herbsaint.

My buddy called tonight to say, while he was out with a client at a restaurant, he caught he waiter doing some coke in the restroom. He just gave him a nod and later rolled his tip into a nose cannon before he left it on the table.

A smoke break used to be a smoke break. Now whenever I see a waitress on a smoke break shes tapping away on the cell phone, which I'm sure makes the smoke break last longer. It's unfair enough that the non smokers don't get a break, but the smokers are basically getting a break to play on their phones.
Are businesses legally required to give smoke breaks? If not it would be the first thing I'd cut if I owned a restaurant. Or at the very least I'd have a 'no cell phone on smoke break' policy; at least try to make it somewhat fair to the non smokers who get no break.

Obviously you've never worked in the service industry before. I think it should be a national law that everyone do it for at least 2 years before being able to move onto other industries. It would make people be far more polite and respectful to others.

Right, cause like pediatric surgeons or astronauts don't have any stress.

Amen. I'll never talk shite about service industry. The good tippers paid for my school and the bad tippers taught me how to deal with adversity.

You'd be surprised how many of them drink, do drugs, and yes smoke

Guaranteed breaks every hour or so. I didn't smoke before I waited tables.

Some of the biggest pot heads and alcoholics I know are pediatric surgeons.
