Why do trashy people own pitbulls?

When you see pitbulls, it's always some undesirable who is the "owner." Why do they gravitate to that breed?

I would like to see a study conducted to find out how many pit bull owners have a college degree. I would be willing to bet it's incredibly low. I don't care about your one example of an actor owning a pit bull. I've never met a pit bull owner who isn't trash.
