Most dealerships will reprogram it for you.

Can't imagine putting my truck in park unless I was getting out.

You've never waited in your car to pick someone up?

I can't even believe the is a topic. Door lock settings allows u to pick when your doors lock and unlock. This shite is common knowledge and decades old!!!

It's really a retarded feature if you think it through. Most cars can open from inside when locked regardless

That's not true for most passenger doors.. It is just a feature that can be turned on/off to your liking. Some people think wow what a great feature, everyone can get out when I put the car in park, others think, wow this may get me robbed, raped, and murdered..guess its all about where you live though

Mine does, and locks when putting in drive.

yep...this is pretty much the norm nowadays. they lock automatically to keep you from getting carjacked and unlock automatically for convenience.

I had a car I wanted to light on fire because it did not automatically unlock when in park. I cannot tell you the number of times I parked and got out, walked around to the other side to grab something (usually a kid), and found it locked. It wasn't my daily driver so I never got in the habit and it made me insane. I find that the cars that don't automatically unlock are in the minority based on the ones I've driven in the past 10 years or so. I haven't owned anything super new lately though, so maybe staying locked is what it is trending to...I think it is really inconvenient.

My 04 Chevy truck does this. Generally you get out when you put a vehicle in park. It's convenient.

Why is that convenient? Every car's front doors open even when locked when you pull on the handle. Seems pretty useless.

Why would you put your car in park if you weren't comfortable getting out?

Most people are getting out when you place it in park.

It has settings. I can make only the drivers do it if I want.
