nola has problems and I can see why someone not from there wouldn't want to raise a family there. But the 'shithole' crowd are the people who live in some bland middle class subdivision or crap one horse town whose idea of a nice occasion is to head over to the warm, familiar confines of some chain steakhouse

I hear shite hole used a lot, but can't figure out why 10 million people decided to visit here last year with more to come next year.
How is it that a shite hole has built all of these new condos and urban developments as well has almost every neighborhood going through gentrification. As a result real estate prices are soaring because people are wanting to live here.
It has problems no doubt, but it's not a 90% welfare queen project living shithole like many try to claim.
I agree with all this. Millions of people travel here per year from all over the world and pay big money to stay here. Tell me how many tourists are going to Houma, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and/or Shreveport each year compared to Nola. Show me another city where people are willing to drop $250+ per square foot to buy a 2000 square foot house on a 5000 square foot lot.
