re: Why do people still buy luggage as graduation gifts?

Is this about how millennials basically never want to leave their parents' house? I don't get it.

I got a soft ice chest full of my favorite brew and I still use it to this day....close enough

I got luggage as a gift from my sister on graduation. I still use the same luggage 11 years later.

Parents got me nice luggage for Christmas right before I finished college cause I was going to be traveling a bit for my job. One of the best gifts I have ever ever received.

There's just certain gifts that you'll appreciate as you get older that parents know you need because they've experienced more life than you. Luggage is one of those. I never thought about needing good luggage until my parents got me some. Since then though, I've definitely let them know how great a gift it was on several occasions.

I graduated high school in 2000. I just bought a Med size bag to replace the one I got for graduation. I'd say that's a pretty awesome gift.

My parents bought me a nice suitcase when I graduated college knowing I would be traveling frequently for work. That thing has been invaluable on over 200+ flights the last few years.
