I'm failing to see where I'm losing you.
You claimed that anyone who described Texas public schools as "average" is an idiot.
I linked a credible source that showed Texas public schools ranked 28th in the country last year.
I've yet to make a single comparison between Louisiana and Texas, because that wasn't your assertion in the original statement.
But I'm the one using skewed numbers?
Yes, Texas is a huge state with many small podunk towns. It's more difficult to get quality teachers in these small towns, same in Louisiana. More citizens, more dirt towns = skewed numbers.
So I suggested comparing like major Metro areas where better quality teachers are more attracted, parents are more actively involved, and kids aspire to post high school study.
Comparing the best of the best...
Top 300 High Schools in US for 2016
Texas - 20
Louisiana - 0

I guess you didn't see the part where I said:

FWIW, if you had said "anyone who says Texas public schools are average compared to Louisiana schools is an idiot", I would have completely agreed with you.
All I did was show where Texas, as a state, was ranked just below average, to show that maybe not all people who say Texas has average public schools are "idiots". I hadn't even mentioned Louisiana because I don't feel that the two are even closely comparable.
But you should continue to take it personally.

I'm not taking it personally at all, any data can be tilted in one's favor if you cherry pick the stats.
I was merely trying to compare like data, nothing more.

Do you honestly think that comparing the overall rankings of all 50 states when discussing "average" is cherry picking? Your original statement was not a discussion of Texas vs. Louisiana schools.
In response to "While I agree with you 100%, people on here will say that public education in TX is average at best" your direct quote was "And those people are called idiots." Nowhere in that was the comparison between Texas and Louisiana made.
In fact, it originally stemmed from the statement "Go look at the public schools in Austin, DFW, Denver, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and other places and tell me Louisiana isn't significantly behind", in other words many different states.
So I show a credible source showing that Texas ranked 28th out of 50 states last year, three spots below average. Then seemingly out of nowhere you seem to think I'm trying to compare LA and TX, which was previously not discussed at all.
Then you "cherry picked" a rather inane fact regarding the top 300 schools in the country, and accused me of cherry picking the stats to tilt the argument in my favor. You've also "cherry picked" the specific cities and suburbs you'd rather people focus on, despite the fact that your statement was about the entirety of Texas.
Hell, I've even stated multiple times that if it were a comparison between LA and TX, I agree that TX has the better schools, because the numbers clearly support that.

Of course I did, that was on purpose and those numbers were skewed as well.

For an argument no one was having.
