In sum, Monarchy simply doesn’t make sense to the post Enlightened rationalist. It’s not supposed to. That’s the point. There is a link between monarchy and the sacred. It’s mysterious by nature. It’s beautiful. It’s transcendent.

The Monarchy is a huge part of their history and tradition. Their government is still formed in the name of the monarch. The monarch is sort of an emobodiment of the country for them. So I can see why they still prefer to have it, even if it’s not my thing personally.
