They get way more off days in between now. Every other week its a teacher inservice day, or fall break, or some kind of planned teacher training day. Pussies need to learn how to walk up hill in the snow if you ask me

Most schools start early so they can compete a full semester before the christmas holidays.

When I was a kid BR only had Mardi Gras day off. Now they get a week and then another week at Easter.

In 2003, I was taking Calculus in high school. Things have changed.

I was just reading an article yesterday about Austin area schools moving up start dates this year and it noted that in the past kids went home for Christmas then took their finals when they came back after a two week break.
That would be awful. Glad we never did that.

EBRPSS use to do the same thing. The first semester ended toward the middle of Jan.

They do so bad at the testing they go back earlier to give them the most time possible to prepare

My wife is a teacher. We have this discussion annually. Back in the 70's, we started the week before Labor Day.
IMO, school should not start until after conclusion of the Little League World Series.
