Obamacare has ruined their morale. You're lucky they show up at all.

That's why concierge medicine is becoming so popular. Time & health are too precious to waste, especially if you have a little discretionary income.
Unfortunately, you still have to wait on specialists & pediatric mds.

OBs are pretty bad about this. Being pregnant is the best thing because I get my choice of a time slot, and I always choose the very first appt of the day, usually 7:45. He's usually late for that but only by 30 minutes versus sometimes waiting an hour+ if I go any later. He usually has c sections (both planned and emergency) first thing, so he gets there are soon as he's done in surgery.
My OB is awesome so I don't really care. They have done a lot for me and I know he works his butt off...his tardiness is usually no fault of his own.

OBGyns also have births that can completely derail an entire day of appointments.

A lot of pediatric offices will have you sit 30 minutes in the waiting room and then call you back to a room. You then wait another 30-45 to see the Doctor or NP.
It is not as common with specialists visits.

Also many patients call and have something that needs to be seen that day. So that patient has to be worked in. Get 3 or 4 of those on top of a full schedule and you get behind. Its just unavoidable in most instances with most specialties.
With insurance reimbursements they way they are you have a very thin margin too slow of a schedule and you don't make money too much and you get behind its just hard to make and keep just right for flow.
