Why aren’t gigantic techno dance clubs all the rage here like they are in Europe?

It seems like Vegas has them but other than that the US doesn’t have much in the way of gigantic techno dance clubs. And techno in general isn’t as popular.
The music is not my cup of tea and I can’t think of anything I’d rather do less than go dance, maybe my viewpoints are just shared by most Americans. Just seems like it’s a much bigger deal in the old world.

There are large dance clubs in NYC, Chicago, LA, Miami and Vegas, amongst other US cities.
