There is probably one thread a week on here where people end up giving good advice about how to buy cars.
I guess your sarcasm meter is broken. I post in those threads that you can get more than what they offer, and several claim you can't. Of course you can, at least on domestics.

Cars are easy to buy. Just find the car you want, go to a dealer, and agree on an acceptable price.
People put so much pressure on themselves to “get the best deal” as if it’s a competition to see who can get one over on the dealer. Read any OT thread on car buying, and there are pages of testimonials of how great a deal someone got, or dozens of super special tips on what to say or do when negotiating.
It doesn’t have to be so complicated or stressful.

I find a vehicle online at a price I'm willing to pay.
Go to dealership I found vehicle at.
Pay that price and don't fall for any deal-making schticks.
Done.
Exactly. It really is this simple. People get so stressed for no reason, worrying about whether they overpaid. OMG did I pay more than my neighbor??

I make a phone call to the internet guy they have at most dealerships. They seem to not want to haggle much. I get two or three of them quoting me on the exact vin number vehicle I want and the price is usually much cheaper than you can get going to see a salesman
I don't know if that's the best way just the way I do it

It's pretty easy really you just tell them what you're willing to pay they either agree or not.

Regardless of what people say, people will start to negotiate even after given an invoice price. In the mid 90’s Ford, GM and Chrysler bought dealerships in St Louis to try a one price shopping experience. They all failed miserably. As far as “getting a good deal”, the average profit margin has been less than 3% for over two decades. If you don’t get a “good deal” then your not very bright...

Only hard if you're poor. I pay cash for my BMW.
