You'd think they'd improve with all the practice.

They are far superior to Louisiana drivers.

Because there are millions of them, you got the idea somewhere, and you experience confirmation bias

It's not unique to just Texas. Everybody thinks everybody else sucks at driving, regardless of where you are.

So the question is, who are the people that are actually good at driving? Tough call.

They can afford to be more reckless with the cheaper insurance.

I've driven to and from Houston on multiple occasions and I disagree about any assertion that any state produces worse drivers than Louisiana.

I can usually make fantastic time between Houston and Rayne. However, as soon as I near Lafayette it is inevitable that there will be some significant congestion for the next 75 miles and my average speed inevitably drops by 10 mph.

Yep. No congestion around Houston. Smooth sailing there.

They're used to driving on smooth highways without potholes.

They're spoiled.

Why do they turn their hazard lights on every time it starts raining?

They are bad. If it's at all wet, they want to do half the speed limit - maddening.

I used to think Texas drivers were hands down the worst. But Baton Rouge is changing my mind.
