is probably true, but guns are more effective at killing than most other weapons, so if there weren't guns, it'd at least save some lives
If there was some magic pill that got rid of all guns on earth then yes but that doesn’t exist.
So the other option would be ban them all. And yes it would likely negate some of these killings. But it could be counterbalanced by criminals who still have them knowing the populace isn’t armed. That would likely lead to more crime and death if I had to guess because criminals would be bolder with less risk.

quote:Britain had just as many gun deaths before their gun ban than after. The cheap trick fallacy that the gun grabbing left uses is to compare England and other European countries to the USA, instead of themselves before and after the bans.
All of Europe is a gun free zone, so they should have many more mass shootings than the US following this logic. Does the data bear that out?
Wanna play that game? I can always mention Switzerland, where gun ownership is required, which has even fewer gun deaths than the rest of the formerly European continent.
Fun fact. England passed their gun ban in 1996. In 1997, the wave of foreign "immigration" began. "Safety" has jack shite to do with their agenda.

Actually your list was shootings.
quote:
This list of school massacres by death toll contains those cases that occurred at kindergartens, schools and universities, as well as their affiliated buildings. If the perpetrator was a member of the school staff and the victims primarily his colleagues the case is not included here, but added to the list of workplace killings. School massacres are counted as incidents involving at least two deaths, excluding the potential death of the perpetrator.
quote:
The W-column gives a basic description of the weapons used in the murders. F – Firearms and other ranged weapons, especially rifles and handguns, but also bows and crossbows, grenade launchers, flamethrowers, or slingshots M – Melee weapons, like knives, swords, spears, machetes, axes, clubs, rods, rocks, or bare hands O – Any other weapons, such as bombs, hand grenades, Molotov cocktails, poison and poisonous gas, as well as vehicle and arson attacks A – indicates that an arson attack was the only other weapon used V – indicates that a vehicle was the only other weapon used E – indicates that explosives of any sort were the only other weapon used
