Are you ok with a handful of people, without any authority, tearing down property that was paid for by public money?

If so, if I get a group together, of the same size, and we dislike something else, is it ok for us to tear it down, or does it have to fit your narrative?

As a civilized society, even those that want the statues removed, should demand that they are done with the correct process.

Someone erect some statues to other war losers, quick! Where's the nearest monument to Nazis?

They don't give a damn about those statues. Thats fake outrage. It's more about the message it sends to a certain group of people. Gotta hold on to that.

I feel like this site taught me that participation trophies are a big part of why the youngest generation sucks. So why are baby boomers so upset about losing Confederate participation trophies?

You're being facetious but whatever.

There's a reason that when the Warsaw Pact fell apart people in eastern Europe tore down the Lenin statues, there's a reason when Baghdad was captured in 2003 the Saddam statues came down, same as when the Syrian rebels would take over towns and Bashar and Haffez Assad's statues would come down.

It's a massive signal of major changes unfolding. It's also an incredibly in your face display of a power dynamic that in many cases has swung dramatically, often in a short period. That's without getting into the slippery slope arguments.
