That is a combination of the area and, most likely, a huge influx of TeachAmerica participants.
TeachAmerica is basically the Peace Corps for teachers, getting stationed in failing areas in need of teachers for a few years.
The kinds of teachers participating in those programs are highly likely to be SJWs who haven’t been mugged by reality.
I wonder if the one who did the major fundraising push to do the new stadium for Carver which later got looted by locals is as idealistic as he was before h came to NOLA.
