That’s why you see nicer boats with the double stacked propellers. They are pitched opposite and rotate in opposite directions so the boat doesn’t pull to the left. Much smoother drive

But the general answer is that it represents traditional right-hand dominance.
Before there were even rudders, a stern oar was lowered into the water to steer the boat. These were shaded to the right side. This was originally called the "steerboard" side, side which eventually evolved into the modern starboard side.
Watch a sailboat w/o bow thrusters use this 'prop wash' to crab over into a slip.
