Lots of people saying Boudica. She is besides Joan of Arc the most famous female military leader.

And she did unit the tribes, lead a successful ambush against a Roman army, and burned some Roman cities.

But she also got her vastly superior in numbers army routed when finally faced with a prepared Roman army. And frankly used pretty dumb assed tactics during the battle.

They lost so bad she offed herself.

That’s always knocked her down a peg in my book.
