Hitler's opinion of the Russians was that they were barbaric and primitive in allowing the Jewish Bolsheviks to take control of their country. Most were still considered Aryan according to most of the Nazi race theory, just uneducated and barbaric.

There is also historical mythology/fact which says that the ruling class of Russians descend from the Varangians, or what we would call Vikings. Many Russians buy this idea.

Intersting, I thought only Germans and the Norse passed his smell test. Guess I was too quick to judge the guy.

There was a really interesting article I saw on my Facebook feed about how this Israeli guy is moving to Berlin because he found it to be incredibly cheap (I agree) and among the least (surprisingly) anti-Semitic major cities in all of Europe. He was getting some pushback from older Jews and Israelis because of Berlin's obvious role in Naziism and the Holocaust, but he did a pretty good job of addressing all that I felt.

I definitely agree with him that Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna, and London are all more anti-Semitic than Berlin is nowadays. And Moscow and Kiev certainly are (although I've been to neither).
