I was at that concert LOL. It got a little scary when he stormed off stage. Some rednecks set some of his merch on fire as we were leaving the building. It was so strange that he kept mumbling something about Monday Night Football, and nobody knew what the hell he was talking about. Then a few months later, there he is on his very first MNF singing that iconic song.

I’m not much of a Country fan but went to a Hank jr concert with some buddies. It was a LONG Tim ago.
It was more of a southern rock concert than anything else. While his band would take a break, he would play guitar solos. He never stopped. He played Eruption about as good as Eddie.

Saw Vern Gosdin at the Natchez city auditorium about 15 years ago. He was so fricked up that one of his road crew escorted him off stage a couple songs into his show.

I was at BR airport the following day. The airport guys figured he started a day before the concert and never stopped.

He got hammered, started fighting with some ol boys at his hotel bar and trashed the place. This was all at the time he was supposed to be on stage.

I've always heard he was/is a shredder on guitar, I think early in his career he tried to make it as a rocker before he just resigned himself to being a good ole baw
