Yeah a huge fall. That was the last time frame that I watched wrasslin. Those angles were fricking god awful. Practically unwatchable.

Also Russo was an idiot yeah of course. But he tried to recreate the Attitude Era in WCW but their bosses still thought it was 1980 so they basically had to ask permission to say arse while Jenna Jameson is blowing Val Venis on Raw.

Plus Thunder was filmed like a week in advance and Nitro was live, so they had to make damn sure whatever happened on Nitro meshed up storyline wise with Thunder later on that week. And then there was the Sunday afternoon show on TBS. Or was that just a repeat of the Saturday night show? I can’t remember. I was pro WWE in the Monday Night Wars but I watched wrestling anytime I could find it on.
WWE had Raw, Smackdown, Velocity/Jakked, and Sunday Night Heat all going at the same time, but they seemed to be able to make them all flow a lot better with higher production quality.
