Depends on the age difference. If a woman is much younger than a man she is not letting herself go until after the kids graduate, she divorces no. 1, takes half of his stuff and then gets married to no. 2. Then she generally lets herself go, but not to the point that no. 2 would leave her because then she would be screwed.

That is for the population at large. Not sure if that is accurate for married couples.
