Just switched from Safeco to MetLife because Safeco was raising their rates. I pay about $180/month for 2 SUVs.

State Farm. Like $65.

It used to be like $115, but they had this little thing I signed up for where you put this little beacon in your car and it tracks your driving.

The safer you drive and the less you drive the lower your bill gets.

So it went all the way down to $65 a month.

Does Geico crank up the rates down the road or something?

Yes, they more than likely have a 90 day underwrite window in which you get the best price up front and they get time to think about it.
They also don't have a lot of the optional coverages that other companies provide, so read the guidelines carefully.

You might want to also want to look at
MetLife Auto
National General
Kemper
Progressive

SF is great for Auto....That's about it.

2015 Ford Mustang, base model
Similar coverage limits to yours
DC area
Current State Farm premium: $40/month

The fact that I'm considerably over 24 and haven't had a crash in over 20 years probably has something to do with it.

Geico uses sketchy body shops

This is why they are so cheap. You get what you pay for

How would you feel if your aunt or good clients decided to start buying from shooters, jims, bass pro etc b/c they are cheaper?

Insurance is a little different, but I see what you're saying. I just think that gap is mindblowing. Just checked again to make sure the options are consistent. They are. Something fishy about that Geico rate

Truck is farm truck, so it's in an umbrella. Don't even know what it is.

My wife's car is a '14 Cadillac ATS
-Same coverage as OP
-State Farm was $328/month, changed to Travelers. Now paying $151.
-I'm 30, she's 26, and we like to speed, and had a hit and run claim about this time last year, so I'll take the $151 with a smile on my face. Agent said with would have been $106 without the tickets.

frick State Farm.

Your location also plays a big part in that.

Geico was by far the cheapest for me. Rates have not gone up really that I recall.

Over-generalize much? An article about ONE shady repair shop and now Geico sucks nationwide?

Allstate is out of the running, they're absurdly high.

Just got off phone with aunt. She said that she had put collision/comprehensive/roadside in my quote since my dad had it on his plan, so it'll come down once I take that shite off. She wasn't at the office yet so I don't have the new rate yet

Remember this with insurance.... you pay for what you get. If your cost are that low on the front end you will get to an avg cost of everyone eventually.

This is just ignorant bullshite.

6th month renewal with Allstate in the Denham area code 70726 , was going to be almost $1100 on a 2015 Tacoma Full Coverage and a 2001 s10 with just liability.

used the same info I had with Allstate and did my online quote with geico and it was $500 and something dollars.

I was able to include the fiancé as we live together and have for a number of years, as my domestic partner. This may have helped with the price difference. I`m not certain about that, but with Allstate they wanted me to pay more to have her listed on my policy.

It`s a win for me, because even if they go up $50 on the next 6 months, I am far away from what Allstate wanted.

Also, for the guy saying Geico uses shady shops, you are not required to go to their requested shops. Go to one you think you can trust.

I just want to know why my insurance went up $25/month when my vehicle is worth less now compared to the entire time I've had it.
