Everyone gather around, I’m about to explain why this thread is stupid:
High end phones have always been super expensive.
People just didn’t realize it because of the way you obtained these phones through the carriers.
A 32G iPhone 4 in 2010 retailed at $700 off the shelf. Most people never realized it because they got their phone through their carrier as part of their contract.
Adjusted for inflation, that means that an iPhone 4 would now cost $820 retail.
Carriers changed their model on how consumers got their phone and all of the sudden people act like the phones are super expensive.
They always were, people just didn’t realize it because of how they paid for it under the old model.
Sooooo......
Compare the iPhone 4 and the iPhone X as far as capability. That incredible jump in capability has really only resulted in an increase of $180. Over a two year contract, you are paying $7.50 more a month for an iPhone X than you paid for an iPhone 4 which is a bargain considering the astounding capabilities of the latter compared to the former.
We good?

Not only that, you can get an XR for $750, which shits all over the iphone 4 for LESS money adjusted for inflation

I get pissed that Verizon won’t let you buy a phone outright and you have to pay $33 extra a month on your bill for 2 years in order to have a phone.
This is literally the dumbest statement I have seen on here in a while. Are you even trying?? You can literally buy and unlocked phone from Apple.com and pay full price and use it on Verizon.

I just buy factory unlocked phones. Had mine since March last year. Going strong.
same. i normally just find the best deal on a phone that was the $1000 phone the year before, buy a brand new unlocked one for a fraction of that price, and use it til it breaks
