There are people who go overboard about Christmas. Decorate 2 months out, rediculous amount of lights and xmas crap in there house etc.

Anyone here hate the holidays as much as these folks love it?

I'll hang up and listen.....

I don’t hate it, but I get aggravated.

So many people have high expectations for how family get togethers should go. Seems like my mother-in-law is disappointed in everyone every year because people have their own interests when they come in town.

My mother can’t stop herself from spoiling the shite out of my son with hundreds of dollars worth of presents. A few days ago my wife’s large extended family had their get together. The grandparents bought him three gifts then nine other people each bought him one. They’re all wealthy so they were nice, kickass presents. So my son has already received about 25-28 presents before Christmas morning.

I just put out Santa’s gifts. A LEGO BB8 set that cost $100 and a Paw Patrol set that cost $20. That’s all there is for tomorrow morning and I can’t help but feel a bit inadequate considering his four-year-old brain now associates opening presents with LOTS of presents.

Anyway, tis the season.

What I don't like is that from Dec 24th to Jan 2nd you have to deal with crappy gym hours, and then come Jan 2nd, the gym is full.

I've got similar concerns with my kids, so this year we went with quantity over quality. They're easy to please and enjou unwrapping the gifts as much or more than the gifts themselves.

I don't hate the holiday but this year work circumstances required me to skip the usual routine.

- No airports, layovers, cost of flights
- No last minute shopping for shite nobody asked for
- No running around town to different family and friend get togethers where everyone is stressed

I may do this the rest of my life.

Between other holidays and birthdays I get plenty of family time in.

No disrespect to anyone else.

I'll probably feel different when I have kids.
