I'll talk to Nap about it tomorrow. I just want to make sure he's a responsible owner.
Had a similar situation happen a couple years ago. Found a young female beagle behind our home with no collar or chip. Kept her in our backyard with the two dogs we had at the time for two days trying to find the owner or someone to adopt her. Had some guys installing our LUS Fiber at the house and the wife asked them if they wanted a beagle. The black guy says his uncle has beagles for rabbit hunting and might want her. Calls his uncle and guy says he'll take her. Perfect! So we bring her to the guys house that afternoon and we go around the back of his house with the dog and he keeps them in a raised wooden kennel. Each dog had a space about 2'x4' to themselves with hog wire between each section. A small sleeping area but mostly wire floors. So I put her in the kennel and thank the guy for taking her and leave. I can hear her howling as we walked to my truck and it broke my heart. We drive off and I tell my wife, "Well it's better than being put to sleep". That night I dreamed about that damn dog in that little kennel. Next morning I woke up and told my wife, "I'm going get her, I can't condemn her to live in that little kennel". So I called the guy up and told him that the owners had just contacted us and wanted their dog back. He said no problem and I went and picked her up shortly after. Actually found a great couple with another dog and a huge yard to adopt her the next day, so it turned out well for her and my conscious!

Oh man. I would have felt bad, too. I hate people who just have dogs for sport and keep them locked up in cages. You did the right thing.

Yeah, I felt like a piece of shite when I drove away leaving her in that little kennel. I kept trying to convince myself and my wife that she'd be alright and it was better than the alternative, but I couldn't convince my conscious. That little bitch is very lucky I have a guilty conscious!

I'm sure she is quite appreciative.

Little bitch probably doesn't even remember me anymore!
So I'm not as big of an a-hole as you thought I was. I'm just an a-hole, not a huge a-hole!

I think napoleon is, if that matters.
That's a good point. Pick the one that has the same political beliefs as you. Tell the others elections have consequences.

Go ahead and take dog to vet for shots and exam. Then get reimbursed by adoptee. If he won't do it, he doesn't need to adopt dog.

Aww guys, this thread was cool.
I do have a huge yard and let my dog live inside. But I just wanted the dog to save it from the pound. Had I been active today (didn't know the dog would be gone that soon) I would have deferred.
I just got a kitten I found and that alone drives my dog attention crazy.
I'm just glad it found a home. If it doesn't work out, the email was right.
Just never bring them to the pound.

Sorry about that Nap. Damn wife asked me to handle it and then the first person that called her, she stabbed you and I in the back. The pup is with a nice family with kids and two other dogs in Opelousas, so at least she found a good home.

Sorry you didn't get the dog brother.
OP- if anything happens and you need a new place for the dog I vouch for Napoleon

Yeah, he seems like one of the few decent persons on the OT.

He is a very good dude that genuinely enjoys helping people out, I have no doubt he would be great with a dog.

You should have been there that time me and Nepoleon got loaded and he backed over how roomates cat that was in the process of having a litter of kittens. That's back when he was trying to sell his deep dish Daytons for some extra cash because he was broke. Well long story short he didn't want for the killing of all the little kittens and the mama cat, he make a stew but I refused to eat it. Me said something about "honoring them". But you gotta remember Nep was on that shite back in those days.

Whoa. I did once sell some deep dish daytons and the next day got my roommate a cat because his was killed. Did I tell that story here? Lol
I'm a softie when it comes to animals. Except squirrels I hate squirrels.
