I have it figured out, it’s not that all of the liberal states are that purpled hair, overweight white women at protests.
I’m originally from upstate NY but have lived in NW Ga for many years. Where I’m from in NY is 99% white, virtually no crime. For heavens sake the second language was indo-European. The point is they were way more rednecky than people from the south but voted Democrat. The South and race were almost never brought up. When it was they would almost feel bad for minorities. Once I moved to the south I realized they are just ignorant because they don’t have to deal with them. They knew racism is bad but didn’t understand stereotypes exist for a reason. The first school I went to in the South was the same year it started busing blacks in. I saw first hand what happens. A pretty well off white school was destroyed.

I can tell you with certainty that the northshore is full of ex nola/Metairie residents. Every single one of them says they left because they no longer feel safe anywhere on south shore.

This is a very true statement. Airline Hwy was a white middle class community. Then they built I-10 and commerce patterns changed so white people started moving out and blacks started moving in. Now we are all supposed to rebuild North Baton Rouge because "we all turned our backs on the black community" BUT the truth of matter is the community was dying the second I-10 was born. It just took this long for it to get as bad as it today. It has nothing to do with the black community. North baton rouge was abandoned while the whites were living there.

What you are seeing is the biggest migration in the United States since the California Gold Rush. The folks who dealt with liberals because they loved the area, their job, had always lived there, etc… are packing their shite and GTFO.

Brain drain is a bigger issue for the rural communities. Any major company investing large sums of capital into commercial buildings right now is a fool. It made sense 2 years ago but not much now except for maybe places like NOLA or Jackson.

While that is 100% correct, there are many countries where politics have nowhere near the same amount of importance attached to it as here. And it’s not constantly in your face.
As an example take for example France where campaigning is only allowed for 14 days before an election. Between the limited time of advertising and absence of PACs the people aren’t constantly exposed to the whims of some group pushing an agenda.
Also, just like the USA most liberal countries have pockets of conservative leaning population outside of their cities. Head to the central / southern portions of France, or most of the country side areas of Portugal, etc and it is relatively normal without life revolving around politics like it does here for too many.
My personal choices for retirement have rapidly changed over the past few years from Montana / Wyoming or TN / NC / GA to Portugal, Tenerife, France or Guernsey.

Doubling down on the policies of vilifying high achieving white people, suggesting that they're not paying enough, raising taxes, all the while kowtowing to the unions (especially the teachers union, destroying public education) and worrying more about criminals than the law-abiding citizens isn't helping anything. I know first hand as I'm one of those high-achieving white people living in Chicago and I'm getting ready to leave.
